I've been wanting a bike trailer for awhile. New ones are $$$! This thing has been sitting in our back alley gathering dust since we moved in. Talked to the neighbors, apparently the old residents abandoned it.
I'm going to paint it and build a small frame to hold cargo.

Chicago
Steph had a week long conference in Chicago about a month ago. I flew out to meet her at the end of the week. She had never been so we did all the tourtisty things.
We were the only ones with Pretzel necklaces. Everyone asked "Where did you buy those?" "How did you know to make them?" I said, "we're from Colorado."
the bean! |
it was really cloudy the first few days |
famous hot dog, I went with the coney |
you know a place is good if only construction workers eat there |
Not pictured, my friend Scott took us out for drinks at the top floor of the Hancock building |
We found a nice coffee shop near Scott's place |
tulips everywhere |
Gino's deep dish |
Scott recently got a new job and then big raise, so he surprised by buying beerfest tickets in the Bear's Stadium |

Fried Chicken, Steph got a huge crab cake sandwich |
We went to the museum of contemporary art on the last day before we flew out. I really liked the tiny room exhibit. |
G-Knight Ride
We went up to Longmont yesterday for our first G-Knight ride. It is a bike ride in honor of a brewer/firefighter who died fighting a forest fire.
I think they said there were ~3000 bikers, it went all around Longmont including brewery stops along the way.
Unfortunately, Steph got a flat tire half way through (6 miles deep). A good samaratan stopped and patched it but it seemed like the tube was too big for the tire (Steph recently had work done on it).
The house we stopped at brought out a bloody mary for the good Samaritan then we just walked 1/2 mile to the next brewery where Erica and Carter picked us up. They were supposed to get us at the finish so it everything worked out. Thanks guys!

I have been modifying my bike in preparation of the ride |
We got there an hour early, luckily Erica told us about the rose garden nearby |

Spinach Fettuccine
Every few weeks I try to make something out of Grandma’s cookbook. Usually when I cook I take a bunch of recipes and combine what I like out of them. Steph makes fun of me because I always follow Grandma’s recipes exactly.
We grilled a lot over Memorial day, went well with leftover bbq chicken.
Turned out great! What have you guys been cooking?
Burning Can- Lyons
The only rule of the beer fest is that all the beer has to be canned. A few breweries that dont sell canned beer normally cheated and brought unlabeled canned beer that they filled manually.

There is a free bus from Boulder to Lyons during the summer. We went to the bus stop, you literally couldn't fit another person in it. So we decided to drive and leave a car up there. A lot of people were stuck in Boulder that planned to ride it so we took gave a random couple from Aurora a ride. Turns out the guy is starting a brewery down there, pretty cool.

The weather was perfect, a lot cooler than last year, ~70s
This is normal
We ran into old friends. They camped right outside the beerfest. Apparently they had free camping outside. Definitely going to do it next year!
Towards the end of the festival, notice my necklace is getting smaller
Ska Brewery - From Stephanie's hometown of Durango. They ran out quick
I've been bad at blogging lately. Have a lot to post: garden, Chicago, random shenanigans. More to come!
